Michael Jackson Extends London Comeback Into 2010March 12, 2009
Michael Jackson has extended his run at London's O2 Arena into next year in order to cope with the huge demand for tickets.
Fans will now be able to see the singer perform across seven nights in January, starting on the 7th. However, this figure could still rise. Promoters AEG said in a statement that the singer had agreed to play more dates after the pre-sale for his initial thirty nights sold out yesterday (March 11th). They also apologised to fans who had experienced “frustrating delays” when trying to buy tickets. Over a million people have registered for the chance to see Jackson's “final curtain call” in London, which will begin on July 8th. As previously reporte, tickets for the initial dates began appearing on eBay yesterday morning for as much as £10,000 a pair. Jackson, now 50, has not performed a full concert since he was cleared of child molestation charges in 2005. His last full tour, entitled HIStory, took place in 1996 and '97. In total, the singer is expected to earn upwards of $400m for his comeback, which also includes a 3D film deal. Tickets for all of the shows will go on general sale tomorrow morning (March 13th) at 7am. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Michael Jackson Heal The World Lawsuit Resolved (20.04.2011)
