Robbie Williams Confident About Take That ReunionMarch 27, 2009
Robbie Williams has given his strongest indication yet that he is ready to reform with Take That.
The singer said he had established “regular contact” with his old band mates, including Gary Barlow, with whom a rift led Williams to quit the then boy band in 1995. Williams, who recently moved back to the UK from Los Angeles, said he expected the reunion to happen in the coming months. "I'm in regular contact with them, even Gary, and it's looking more likely by the week,” he told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “The lads all seem up for it and some people think it's a done deal. I think it would be fun." Williams, who launched a hugely successful career following his Take That departure, insisted he and the rest of the band had all “matured”. “We'd have a laugh,” he added. "It would make sense for it to happen some time over the next year." In December, Barlow said he and his Take That band mates were open to Williams' return, but revealed it was unlikely to happen during their summer UK tour. He said: “We are not ruling out getting together with him beyond that." Williams' departure from Take That triggered the boy band's initial demise but since reforming thre years ago without the singer they have enjoyed a hugely successful re-birth. Their summer tour, which includes multiple shows at Wembley Stadium, will see the group perform to over a million fans in the UK.
