Beatles' Paul McCartney And Ringo Starr Set For New York ConcertMarch 5, 2009
Former Beatles stars Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will both perform at the same benefit concert in New York on April 4th.
Sir Paul will headline the event at the Radio City Music Hall, which is in aid of the David Lynch Foundation. At present, it's not clear if Starr, who is named as one of nine “special guests”, will perform with his former bandmate. A spokesman for Sir Paul told the BBC that fans would “have to wait and see” whether the reunion would happen. During a recent appearance on US television, Sir Paul revealed that other commitments had so far prevented Starr and himself from collaborating. When asked if the pair would reunite again, Sir Paul replied: “Yeah I would love to. We do things from time to time together – it doesn't always come up." The concert next month aims to raise more awareness to the foundation's target of teaching children the techniques of Transcendental Meditation. As previously reported, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Moby, Sheryl Crow and Donovan are also scheduled to appear.
