Michael Jackson To Earn $400m From ComebackMarch 6, 2009
Michael Jackson could earn upwards of $400m (£238m) from the deal that sealed his live comeback in London this summer.
Jackson yesterday appeared at the O2 Arena in the city to announce the 10 show residency that begins on July 8. However, it now seems that those shows could be just the tip of the iceberg with the possibility of a world tour and a new film starring Jackson also in the works. Speaking about the deal, Randy Phillips, head of AEG Live, said: "We're talking to him about helping him figure a new plan for the release of singles, new music." Phillips also said that although Jackson had billed the concerts as his “final curtain call”, the self proclaimed 'King of Pop' could play more shows. He revealed: "These will be the last shows in London. Whether he will go on from here around the world... this will be his last tour. "All he's agreed to are the London shows at this point." Phillips added: "We have a film development deal that's part of this to do a film, Thriller 3D. "If we complete the full three-and-a-half year plan, he could gross over $400m in that time. London could be north of $50m (£35m)." (by Daniel Melia) See also: Michael Jackson Heal The World Lawsuit Resolved (20.04.2011)
