Amy Winehouse Asks Mark Ronson 'To Save New Album'

March 26, 2009
Amy Winehouse Asks Mark Ronson 'To Save New Album'Amy Winehouse has asked Mark Ronson to produce her new album after record bosses rejected her initial effort, it's been reported.

Recent tabloid reports claimed claimed Winehouse's record label, Island, had voiced concern over demos which showed a new reggae-influenced sound.

Winehouse is now understood to have asked Ronson, who produced her critically acclaimed 2006 album 'Back To Black', to help re-record the songs.

Winehouse and Ronson terminated their recording relationship last April after sessions for a James Bond theme collapsed.

But the producer, who said at the time that Winehouse "wasn't ready", is now reported to have agreed to reunite with the singer.

“Mark does not have fond memories of collaborating with Amy last year. He said he wouldn’t work with her again until she had her drug problems under control,” a source told The Sun newspaper.

“He thinks she’s much better now so has agreed to come on board and do a little work with her on some of her songs.”

The source added: “Mark’s now happy to give Amy the help she requires.

"They gelled while recording 'Back To Black' and he’s hopeful some of that magic could return.”

Winehouse, one of Island Records' leading artists, is expected to record her follow-up to 2006's 'Back To Black' this year.
