Madonna Crowned 'Worst Dressed 2009' By PETA

Madonna has been crowned the Worst Dresser Of 2009 by animal rights organisation PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The 50-year-old singer, who has been known to wear fur, topped a list that also shamed Kanye West, the Olsen twins and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

PETA said of Madonna: “When you see Madonna in fur, you realise why nobody has copied her style since 1984. We know that she's on the prowl for a young cub, but someone needs to tell Madge that wearing fur doesn't make you a cougar.”

Madonna's dubious award is in stark contrast to Leona Lewis who was celebrated as PETA's Person of the Year 2008 for her vegetarianism.

The former X Factor winner has often spoken publicly of her vegetarianism, and insisted that she doesn't buy anything made from animal products.

She is also understood to have decided against opening the Harrods Winter Sale last year because the London department store allegedly stocked fur.
