Noel Fielding To 'Mighty Boosh Up' New Kasabian Video

March 10, 2009
Noel Fielding To 'Mighty Boosh Up' New Kasabian VideoKasabian have asked Noel Fielding, star of The Mighty Boosh, to direct their new music video, it's been reported.

The band, who release their new album this spring, are said to be keen for Fielding to 'Boosh up' the video with 3D effects.

The ten-minute video for 'Vlad The Impaler' is described by a source as “Captain Beefheart remaking 'Thriller'”.

“The Kasabian boys have wanted to work with Noel for ages: initially it was mooted that he would design the album artwork,” the source told The Sun newspaper.

“But Fielding had so many ideas it was clear to all that they’d need to explore them on a bigger scale, and so the idea for the video was born.

The source added: “It’s going to be a chaotic, arthouse spoof and the overall idea is intended to make the band and the viewer feel like they’ve been shrunk and dropped into the kind of plastic, glittering kaleidoscope you buy at a fair.

“And the Kasabian lads are going to have to dress up, because Noel and Dave (Brown, a friend of Fielding) are going for the effect of a mini feature film.

“There’ll be a series of sketches in which, we’ve been told, the band will appear in a way we’ve never seen them before.

“New characters are promised as well as some amazing effects. Dave has been looking at black and white, colour filter and even 3-D technology.”

As previously reported, Kasabian have named their album 'West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum'.
