Kasabian's Tom Meighan has waded into UK General Election debate by saying he'd like to set fire to every member of The Conservatives.

The 29-year-old singer was asked by the NME whether he'd like the idea of a Kasabian song being used in the election campaign.

The answer? An emphatic no - especially if it was The Tories.

"They're fucking horrible! I'd set fire to them!" he said of David Cameron's political party.

"I mean, they're just horrible aren't they?! I would actually set fire to them. Every single one of them, one by one!"

Cameron has been outspoken about his music taste over the years, citing The Smiths and Radiohead as two of his favourite bands.

However, he recently branded Lily Allen's music “unsuitable” for his daughter and in 2006 controversially accused hip-hop shows on Radio 1 of encouraging people to carry guns and knives.
