Arctic Monkeys lead the list of nominees at this year's NME Awards with seven nods – including worst album
The Sheffield outfit will compete against Kasabian in five categories - Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album, Best Video and a new category, the Giving It Back Fan Award. The Arctics have also been nominated for Best Single with 'Crying Lightning' and curiously they're are also nominated in the Worst Album category for 'Humbug'. Despite splitting in August, Oasis have also been nominated for three (positive) awards alongside Worst Band, Villain of the Year and Worst dressed nods. The winners of The NME Awards will be announced at London's Brixton's Academy on February 24. The full list of nominees is as follows: Best British Band
