Kaiser Chiefs: 'Paul McCartney Is Most Influential Person Still Alive'June 2, 2008
Former Beatles stars Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are the most influential people still alive, according to Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix.
Rix said he couldn’t think of anyone more influential because of the impact the two performers had had in the Beatles. “I think that the influence of The Beatles, the impact that they had on everything at the time, not just music, you know your shoes and clothes and your hair and moustaches, everything, furniture - if The Beatles had never happened then we'd be living in a parallel universe,” he told BBC 6Music. Kaiser Chiefs supported Sir Paul McCartney last night (June 1st) as the former Beatle played to a sold out crowd at Anfield stadium in Liverpool. The gig, which was in support of Liverpool’s reign as the Capital of Culture in Europe for 2008, also featured guest appearances from The Zutons and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.
