Idlewild To Take Hiatus As 'Demand' Drops For Their Music

April 27, 2010
Idlewild To Take Hiatus As 'Demand' Drops For Their MusicIdlewild have announced plans to go on hiatus, blaming a lack of “demand” for their music.

The Scottish group are set to take a break at the end of their current gig schedule, which concludes at Dunfermline’s Velocity on May 1.

In a message to fans, singer Roddy Womble said: "There isn’t the demand for our music that there was in the past, especially not outside of Britain, so it seems after this year it's an appropriate time to take a break, a 'hiatus' or whatever you want to call it."

Idlewild released their most recent album ‘Post Electric Blues’ last October.
