Akon Wants 'Dope' Dizzee Rascal To Star On New AlbumOctober 2, 2008
US R&B star Akon has said he wants British rapper Dizzee Rascal to appear on his next album.
Akon revealed that he was a huge fan of the UK grime scene, which Rascal is at the centre of, and was optimistic that it would spread to the US. “Dizzee is dope. I really like him. I think that whole grime sound, if it ever breaks outside of the UK, is going to be huge, it’s so new and fresh,” he told the Daily Star newspaper. “I want to be the one to bring it over to the US and one way would be to get Dizzee on my album.” Akon recently signed British grime star Sway to his US based label, Kon Live. The label will be in charge of distributing Sway's new album 'Signature', around the world. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Dizzee Rascal To Star In The New Inbetweeners Sitcom (16.03.2011)
