Deadmau5 UK Tour Will Eclipse Visual Spectacle Of Daft Punk Shows

April 22, 2010
Deadmau5 UK Tour Will Eclipse Visual Spectacle Of Daft Punk ShowsDeadmau5's upcoming UK tour will surpass the visual spectacle of Daft Punk live shows, his label claims.

The dance artist – real name Joel Zimmerman – showcased a new LED mask at Coachella Festival in California last weekend and will bring it to the UK next week.

Together with a huge LED backdrop, the innovative mask, designed by Warren at Keillor Films in Toronto, features an impressive 946 Tricolour LED’s distributed over 32 rows.

There are no eye holes – instead video glasses provide vision from a camera installed at the front base of the head.

This also plugs into the computers he uses to perform on stage so they also display information directly the video glasses.

A press release claims of the show: “Taking Electronic Music performances to a whole new level, the show eclipses even Daft Punk's previous efforts.”

Deadmau5 upcoming UK tour dates are as follows:

  • London O2 Brixton Academy – April 30, May 1/2
  • Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom – 4
  • Hull City Hall – 5
  • Liverpool University – 6
