U2 Star Bono's Broadway Spider-Man Musical Spinning Wild CostsOctober 9, 2008
The Broadway interpretation of Spider-Man, which features a score by U2's Bono, is set to become the most expensive musical in the history of theatre.
The production, directed by Julie Taymor, currently has a total budget of $40million and is expected to have weekly running cost upwards of $1million. But, according to the New York Post, the production if facing a $5million budget reduction, which would mean it would have to run for 8,000 years to break even. The budget is being used to design lavish state sets and costumers. Spider-Man is expected to open in New York next year.
