Jack White Slams Drinks Company Over James Bond Theme AdvertSeptember 15, 2008
White Stripes frontman Jack White has hit out at Coca Cola after the drinks company used his James Bond theme song in a new advert.
An instrumental version of the track, entitled 'Another Way To Die', appears in Coke's new Zero Zero 7 campaign. In a statement, White said he was commissioned by Sony Pictures to write a theme song for the film, not the drinks company. "Any other use of the song is based on decisions made by others, not by Jack White,” the statement added. White also said he was disappointed that fans had not go to hear the song, which also features Alicia Keys, “in its entirety.” As previously reported, 'Another Way To Die' is the first Bond theme to feature a collaboration. It will appear on the soundtrack to the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace, which is released in November.
