The Smiths' Johnny Marr To Lecture At Salford UniversityOctober 23, 2008
Former Smiths' guitarist Johnny Marr is to host a workshop next month at Salford University.
The guitarist, for will act as the visiting professor of music, will talk to students about “innovators” and “mavericks” at Maxwell Hall. John Sweeney, a representative from the university's School of Media, Music and Performance, told the BBC Marr was "a revered guitarist and composer". He added: "His lecture is a tremendous opportunity for our students and the wider public to benefit from his considerable experience and expertise. It promises to be a really special event." Marr's lecture, Always from the Outside: Mavericks, Innovators and Building Your Own Ark, will be open to the public as well as students.
