Oasis To Cover The Rolling Stones In London This Weekend

October 22, 2008
Oasis To Cover The Rolling Stones In London This WeekendOasis plan to cover the Rolling Stones' track 'We Love You' during their performance at the BBC Electric Proms in London on Sunday (October 26th).

The band will perform the song alongside the 50-piece Crouch End Festival Chorus choir.

Guitarist Noel Gallagher revealed that the choir had originally been scheduled to appear on the band's latest album 'Dig Out Your Soul'.

"Out of the all the songs on the album, there's two that didn't make it that have got a 50 piece choir,” he told BBC 6Music.

“The original idea for this album was to record it with this choir in Abbey Road and for whatever reason, their availability and that, it didn't happen.”

He said the band offered the choir the chance to perform with them at the Electric Proms after they missed out appearing on the album.

Gallagher added: “I think they're going to sing on maybe a third of the set and we're hoping to do 'We Love You'.”

Oasis are just one of 80 acts who are due to perform at the Electric Proms, which this year will take place at venues in both London and Liverpool.
