Radiohead Debut New Song At Dublin's Malahide CastleJune 9, 2008
Radiohead debuted new song, ‘Super Collider’, during their two-night residency at Malahide Castle in Dublin over the weekend.
The band’s outdoor shows – on Friday (June 6th) and Saturday (June 7th) – were the opening nights of their European tour. After performing the new song, which simply features frontman Thom Yorke on piano, for the first time on Friday, they added it to their final encore on Saturday. Yorke told the crowd beforehand that he would try to remember the words to the song after forgetting them on the opening night. Radiohead’s performance on Saturday borrowed heavily from their latest album ‘In Rainbows’, opening with ’15 Step’ and ‘Bodysnatchers’. Newer songs ‘All I Need’, ‘Videotape’ and ‘Nude’ also stood up well against songs from the bands back-catalogue. As with the opening night, the crowds were spoiled by the glorious weather that had graced much of Ireland’s capital throughout the day. You can watch a fans-eye-view of ‘Super Collider’ HERE.
