Kings Of Leon Say Pills Have Influenced New AlbumJune 12, 2008
Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill claims that medication he has been taking has helped the band's new album become stronger.
Followill revealed that he had been taking pills after a fight with his brother Nathan while the band have been recording the follow-up to 2007's 'Because of the Times'. Speaking to Rolling Stone, he said: “I don’t know if it was the pills or what, but the melodies were so much stronger than anything I’ve ever done — it’s just really beautiful songs.” “I know I sound like a fucking cock right now, but this is the first time I’ve really been proud of myself, track for track." Speaking about specific songs, Followill singled out 'Crawl', which he said had the kind of political messages that will make Sean Penn like the band. Kings of Leon will headline the Glastonbury Festival later this month alongside Jay-Z and The Verve. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Kings Of Leon 'Excited' For Talihina Sky Premiere (21.04.2011)
