
Martin Scorsese’s ‘Shine A Light’, which documents
The Rolling Stones live in concert, has proved a big hit at the American box office.
The film grossed $1.5million in its opening weekend, nearly $500,000 more than U2’s recent ‘rockumentary’ ‘U23D’.
‘U23D’, which grossed $1.02million in its opening weekend, has gone on to make $7.2million at the box office, making it the fifth biggest concert film of all time.
‘Shine A Light’ was filmed during the Rolling Stones’ two-night run at the Beacon Theatre in New York in 2006.
The intimate shows feature collaborations with Christina Aguilera, Buddy Guy and Jack White.
