Portishead’s eagerly anticipated new album ‘Third’ will be aired exclusively on Current TV this April, three weeks before its official release. The Mercury Prize winners will debut eight songs from their third studio LP – and first in more than 11 years – in a live show titled Portishead in Portishead. 
Procol Harum frontman Gary Brooker has won back full royalty rights to the band’s seminal 1967 hit ‘A Whiter Shade Of Pale’ at London’s Court of Appeal. In 2006, a court ruled that organist Matthew Fisher was entitled to a 40 per cent portion of royalties for the song that reached number one in the charts upon its release. 
The Kooks’ frontman Luke Pritchard has revealed that the band haven’t spoken to their former bassist Max Rafferty since he quit the band in January. The singer said that he thought Rafferty “should be left to get on with things” in his own time. 
US rapper Kanye West has promised fans the greatest light show of all time on his forthcoming ‘Glow In The Dark’ tour. The lighting for West’s US venture, which will also feature Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna and N.E.R.D, has been designed by Martin Phillips and John McGuire – the duo responsible for Daft Punk’s 2007 tour. 
50 Cent is facing legal proceedings from a former girlfriend who is alleging that the rapper is attempting to evict her and their 10-year-old son from their New York home. Shaniqua Thomas filed court papers at Manhattan’s Supreme Court which claim that Fiddy – real name Curtis Jackson – is going back on his pledge to provide a home for herself and child Marquis. 
John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono has given her support to Sir Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills. In an interview with Sky News, Ono said that Ms Mills must "do her very best and try to survive" following her public divorce from the former Beatle. 
Patrick Wolf has revealed that punk legend Patti Smith is set to appear on his next album, the follow up to ‘The Magic Position’. Posting on his myspace blog the singer-songwriter described how he had played an impromptu gig with Smith at the weekend and things lead on from there.
