Kasabian To Finish 'Psychedelic' Third Album This MonthFebruary 15, 2008
Kasabian have revealed they are planning to complete work on their third album by the end of this month.
Frontman Tom Meighan said the record is one continuous piece of music with no breaks and that it has a psychedelic edge. The singer was ambushed by BBC6music while out clothes shopping in London and was only too happy to spill the beans on the long-player. Meighan elucidated: “I am down from Leicester for the day buying jeans and doing some meetings with management; Serge (Pizzorno) is back home getting all the bits of our album together and we are getting another guy in to get it finished by the end of the month - we have to get this record done.” Explaining the direction of the album, he continued: “It all joins together which is beautiful, there’s no gaps in it, it’s very psychedelic, there’s very much elements of the first but it’s a more distant sounding Kasabian than we have been with the last two albums.” After two fairly bland titles in the shape of their eponymous debut and follow-up ‘Empire’, Meighan promises that this one will have a whacky name. He explains: “It’s a loony title mate, but we have a couple of titles and we have picked one that has lots of words, it’s a tongue twister!” The album is touted for release in April or May of this year.
