Pavement Announce Greatest Hits CompilationJanuary 5, 2010
Pavement have announced details of a Greatest Hits compilation.
'Quarantine The Past: The Best Of Pavement' will be released on March 8 to coincide with the bands return to playing live across the world. As yet there is no track listing for the double album. Fans are instead being offered the opportunity to guess which 23 tracks will make up the album. The entrant who gets the nearest to the final running order will win two tickets, flights and accommodation to see Pavement perform in Central Park, New York on September 21. Second prize will go to the entrant with the most imaginative track listing. That person will see their version of the Greatest Hits pressed onto vinyl and given five copies. Both winners and four runners up will receive a full set of Pavement 12” vinyl. There are no clues as to the track listing beyond the fact that 'Gold Soundz' is the first song and the bands claim that the album “goes beyond the hits”. The Deadline for the competition is January 19th and all entrants must enter via the Matador website. (by David Renshaw) See also: Pavement Won't Write New Material Again (28.01.2011)
