Paul McCartney Moves Forward With Concert In Tel Aviv

September 11, 2008
Paul McCartney Moves Forward With Concert In Tel AvivPaul McCartney has resisted pressure to cancel his upcoming concert in Tel Aviv will go ahead and perform.

"I was approached by different groups and political bodies who asked me not to come here,” said McCartney to Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth.

“I refused. I do what I think, and I have many friends who support Israel.”

The former Beatle will be performing on September 25 in Hayarkon Park as a part of several shows in which the singer performs in cities he’s never visited before.

The Beatles were previously banned from performing in Israel in 1965 with the possibility that the band would corrupt the morals of Israeli youth.
