Kylie Minogue 'Almost Cancelled' Opening Night Of World TourMay 8, 2008
Kylie Minogue was almost forced to postpone the opening night of her world tour because of technical problems and ill health, it’s been reported.
The singer, who kicked off her X2008 tour in Paris on Tuesday (May 6th), was struck down with a throat infection last week. In addition to fears over her health, it’s claimed that problems with the singer’s complex set, which sees the video screen filter into the stage, almost led to the cancellation of the show. “Considering Kylie couldn’t sing on Friday and the problems with the stage on Monday night, it’s a miracle the show happened at all,” a source told the Sun newspaper. “Mercifully all the issues got ironed out in the end and we’re all hugely relieved to get that difficult opening night out of the way.” According to the newspaper, fears have also been raised over Minogue’s 28-song set list, with those close to the star worried that it’s too long. Minogue was watched by a host of celebrities, including her ex-boyfriend Oliver Martinez, on Tuesday, in what was one of her biggest shows to date.
