Kylie Minogue Tops UK Album Chart With 'Aphrodite'July 12, 2010
Kylie Minogue has gone straight in at number one on the UK album chart with ‘Aphrodite’.
The Australian singer’s success comes 22 years ago to the week since her self-titled debut album also topped the countdown. ‘Aphrodite’ is Minogue’s eleventh studio album and the follow-up to 2007’s ‘X’. The star said her latest chart success was “amazing news”, adding: “I am ecstatic.” "My thanks as always to the many talented and dedicated people with whom I work and the fans who have been so supportive all these years," she said. Enrique Iglesias was the only other new entry inside the top-10 at number six with ‘Euphoria’. On the singles chart, JLS scored their third number one with ‘This Club Is Alive’, according to the Official Charts Company. Yolanda Be Cool vs D Cup’s ‘We No Speak Americano’ was a new entry at number five and 30H3’s ‘My First Kiss’ debuted at number seven.
