Katy Perry was joined by new husband Russell Brand as she attended the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) in Madrid.

The singer was accompanied on the red carpet by the comedian-turned-actor.

The couple, who wore matching wedding rings, tied the know during a ceremony in India last month.

Perry went on to collect the award for Best Video for her Snoop Dogg-featuring single ‘California Gurls’.

The singer also performed new single ‘Firework’, from the album 'Teenage Dream', outdoors at the city’s Puerta de Alcala.
