Eminem And Katy Perry Dominate UK Charts On 4th Of JulyJuly 5, 2010
![]() The rapper’s new album ‘Recovery’ held off a charge from Scissor Sisters’ ‘Night Work’ to remain on top. The US band’s third album had to settle for number two, while David Guetta’s ‘One Love’ was a re-entry at number ten. Elsewhere on the album chart, several bands enjoyed post-Glastonbury sales surges. Gorillaz ‘Plastic Beach’ climbed from number 24 to number twelve, while ‘The Resistance’ by Muse jumped from number 62 to number thirteen. On the singles chart, Katy Perry's ‘California Gurls’ remained at number one on the day that millions of Americans are celebrating the 4th of July. The track, which features Snoop Dogg, outsold its nearest rival, ‘Airplanes’ by B.o.B, by more than 70%, according to the Official Charts Company.
