Michael Jackson Doctor Ordered Lifesaving Gear For O2 Arena GigsJune 17, 2010
The doctor working with Michael Jackson ahead of his ill-fated comeback gigs in London requested lifesaving equipment and a nurse from the promoter.
Documents obtained by the Associated Press outline Dr Conrad Murray's requests, neither of which were granted before Jackson's death last June. They are apparently contained within emails and a draft contract exchanged between Dr Murray and promoter AEG Live. Dr Murray and Jackson were working together ahead of his planned 50-night This Is It residency at the O2 Arena. The King of Pop died on June 25 – just two weeks before he was due to start performing. Dr Murray has since pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter. He is due to stand trial in August.
