Elbow could release their new album by the end of 2010 according to drummer Richard Jupp.

Jupp told NME.com that the sessions for the Manchester bands fifth album are “rabid” and that Guy Garvey's recent claims that the band were experimenting with shoegaze and psychadelic sounds were “innacurate”.

Assuring fans not to expect too big a departure from the bands usual style Jupp said, “It's at an experimental stage. We're loving being back in the studio, it's really exciting. We're just ploughing through it now.”

As previously reported, Jupp is currently taking part in a campaign to bring peace to Sudan alongside the drummers from Radiohead, The Police and Pink Floyd.
