Amy Winehouse has been doing voluntary work as a nurse in a London hospital, according to reports.

The singer, who is being treated at the London Clinic, is understood to have been looking after fellow patients and serving meals during her stay.

“She has been charming the nurses by helping them with their tasks. She’s been mucking in,” a source told the Sun newspaper.

As previously reported, Winehouse was admitted to the hospital last month after falling ill at her home in North London.

The singer's spokeswoman said she had suffered “a bad reaction” to a combination of prescribed medication.

Winehouse has suffered a string of illnesses throughout 2008, and was diagnosed with traces of the lung disease emphysema in June.
