Neil Young, Nickelback Close 2010 Winter Olympics In CanadaMarch 1, 2010
Neil Young and Nickelback joined an all-star line up of guests at the 2010 Winter Olympics closing ceremony in Canada.
Young performed his hit 'Long May You Run' as the Olympic flame was put out in Vancouver last night (February 28). Alanis Morrissette and Avril Lavigne also took part in the ceremony at the sold-out BC Place Stadium. William Shatner and Michael J. Fox also led a line-up of Canadian actors who made fun of national stereotypes. IOC President Jacques Rogge described the games – which began with the tragic death of Luger Nodar Kumaritashvili - as “excellent and very friendy”. The closing ceremony climaxed with the handover of the five-ringed flag to Russia, who will host the next Winter Olympics in 2014.
