Dave Grohl: 'Shelley Duvall Should Play Me In Kurt Cobain Biopic'March 2, 2010
Dave Grohl has joked that actress Shelley Duvall should play him in a forthcoming biopic about the late Kurt Cobain.
The former Nirvana drummer said he shared facial similarities with Duvall, who is perhaps most famous for her role in The Shining. "I don't know about anyone else, but I'm crossing my fingers that Shelley Duvall plays me," he told People magazine. "Shelley Duvall in The Shining .... That is my face, you cannot get any closer than that." The now Foo Fighters frontman added that the 60-year-old actress could wear a beard for the role. Last month, it was reported that Universal were in talks with Oren Moverman to direct the as-yet-untitled movie. The screenplay is set to be based largely on Charles R. Cross’ 2001 biography, Heavier Than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain. Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, is acting as an executive producer on the project.
