Manic Street Preachers, Cardiff City Fans Pay Tribute To Stuart Cable

June 7, 2010
Manic Street Preachers, Cardiff City Fans Pay Tribute To Stuart CableManic Street Preachers have paid tribute to former Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable, who has died.

The 40-year-old’s body was found at his home at Llwydcoed near Aberdare in the early hours of this morning (June 7).

In a statement, Manic Street Preachers told NME: "Whenever you met Stuart, you always walked away with a massive smile on your face.

“Such a gigantic personality which was reflected in his drumming. He really will be missed. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends."

Fans of Cardiff City football club have also remembered the Welshman, who was a life-long fan and due to release a club song this summer.

A message on their website said: “A Cardiff City fan, successful entertainer and a very nice guy. RIP Stuart Cable.”

Cable was one of the original members of Stereophonics, but was sacked in 2003.

He went on to forge a successful career in the media, presenting programmes on Kerrang Radio and XFM South Wales.

Cable’s death comes just two days after Stereophonics played a homecoming show at Cardiff City Stadium.
