Information
Slayer is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Park, California, formed in 1981. The band was founded by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. Slayer rose to fame with their 1986 release, "Reign in Blood", and is credited as one of the "Big Four" thrash metal acts, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Albums

Slayer Guitarist Jeff Hanneman Catches Flesh-Eating DiseaseFebruary 14, 2011 Slayer Guitarist Jeff Hanneman has contracted a flesh eating disease that has caused him to pull out of the band's upcoming tour. Hanneman is believed to have caught necrotizing fasciitis from a spider bite. The disease is rare and destroys skin, fat and tissue from below the surface of the body. Read more
