Information
Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band that formed in 1992 in Cwmaman, Wales. The band currently comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Kelly Jones, bassist and backing vocalist Richard Jones, drummer Javier Weyler, guitarist and backing vocalist, Adam Zindani and touring member Tony Kirkham (keyboards), the group having originally also included Stuart Cable on drums. Stereophonics have released seven studio albums, five of which have topped the UK Albums Chart. Their seventh, "Keep Calm and Carry On", was released in November 2009 but did not make the Top 10. A successful compilation album was also released in November 2008 – "Decade in the Sun" charting at number two in the United Kingdom. The band is part of the Cardiff music scene. Albums

Ex-Stereophonics Star Stuart Cable Died Of 'Vodka Diet'February 21, 2011 Former Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable died after he tried to lose weight on a vodka diet, according to his girlfriend. The 40-year-old died at his home in Aberdare, South Wales, last June after choking on his own vomit. A post-mortem said he was five times over the drink-drive limit. Read more

Stereophonics Announce Special London Gigs In OctoberAugust 24, 2010 Stereophonics have announced details of two special gigs at London's Hammersmith Apollo. The Welsh band will play their first two albums, 1997’s ‘Word Gets Around’ and 1999’s ‘Performance and Cocktails’, in full at the shows on October 17 and 18. Read more
Stereophonics, Kasabian Back Stuart Cable Charity SingleJuly 23, 2010 Kasabian and Stereophonics have endorsed a charity single in aid of Stuart Cable, who died last month. The song, entitled 'Mining Town', has also attracted the support of Oasis, actor Rhys Ifans, The Who and Manic Street Preachers. Read more
