Miley Cyrus To Follow Scarlett Johansson In MusicMay 21, 2008
Teenage actress Miley Cyrus is to release her first studio album under her own name this summer, it’s been revealed.
‘Breakout’ will be released in the US on July 22nd and will be preceded by the single ‘7 Things’, which has already received American airplay. The album is seen as Cyrus’s attempt to break into the ‘adult’ music industry, after previous musical outings as part of her hit Disney show Hannah Montana. The album is likely the gain extra attention following her controversial photo shoot with Vanity Fair. The pictures, which showed her wrapped in a sheet with an exposed back, attracted widespread criticism. Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Madonna defended Cyrus over the images, however.
