Michael Jackson Dominates UK Record Sales Since DeathJune 25, 2010
Michael Jackson has dominated record sales in the UK since his death, selling more records than any other artist.
Jackson, who died a year ago today (June 25), sold a total of 4.31million records over the past 12 months. 'Man In The Mirror' was the biggest-selling single, while the career-spanning retrospective 'The Essential' was the best-selling album. Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company, said: "The UK was one of Michael Jackson's favourite countries in the world and he had a massive fanbase here, as these figures clearly demonstrate.” Earlier this week it was estimated that Jackson's estate had generated more than $1billion since his death.
