G-Unit's Lloyd Banks has been arrested on robbery and assault charges in Canada.

The 27-year-old rapper and three associates are being held by police in Kitchener, Ontario on suspicion of attacking a local promoter on Friday night (January 8).

Sergeant Brad Finucan from the Waterloo Regional Police's Criminal Investigations told MTV.com that Banks and his crew were allegedly involved in a dispute at a hotel in the city over a performance fee.

The unnamed promoter claims that Banks and his alleged cohorts - Shawn McGee, Tyrell Cooper and Nicklas Sloane – held him in a hotel room against his will where they assaulted and robbed him.

The four men are currently in police custody where they have been charged with forceful confinement, aggravated assault and robbery.

It's thought that they will appear in court early this week.
