Michael Jackson Doctor 'Was Responsible For His Death', Sister Janet Jackson Says

November 17, 2009
Michael Jackson Doctor 'Was Responsible For His Death', Sister Janet Jackson SaysMichael Jackson's personal doctor, Conrad Murray, was responsible for his death, the singer's sister Janet has claimed.

In an interview with ABC News, Janet called for the physician to be banned from practising medicine.

"Not at all," she said. "So this could happen to someone else? Another family?"

Michael's death on June 25 was ruled as homicide caused by the powerful sedatives Propofol and Lorazepam.

Dr Murray has admitted administering the drugs to the singer, but his lawyer said he had not given him anything that "should have" killed him.

However, speaking in her first full TV interview since her brother's death, Janet said she blamed Dr Murray.

"He was the one that was administering,” she said. “I think he is responsible."

Janet described 2009 as a “tough year” and said she still had days when it was “hard to believe” her brother had died.

She also spoke to ABC's Robin Roberts about the day of Michael's death and her close relationship with her brother.

The singer's In The Spotlight interview will air on Wednesday (November 18) on ABC.
