Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine, has claimed her late son did not just die of natural causes.

Katherine voiced her suspicion during an interview on Fox News' Geraldo at Large on Sunday (August 2).

"All I know is that my son is dead, and I don't think he just died of natural causes or whatever," she said.

"He's too young for that. Something happened, I don't know what it was and I can't say."

Her claim follows repeated accusations from the singer's father, Joseph, that foul play may have prompted Jackson's death on June 25.

The Los Angeles Coroner's Office ruled out foul play or evidence of external trauma following a post-mortem on June 26.

But a cause of death was deferred pending toxicology tests.

Last week, the Associated Press news agency reported that the results had been postponed indefinitely.

The investigation into Jackson's death has come to focus on the singer's alleged addiction to prescription medication.
