Michael Jackson's Last Days 'To Be Transformed Into Movie'

July 20, 2009
Michael Jackson's Last Days 'To Be Transformed Into Movie'Footage of Michael Jackson's final days is to be transformed into a movie, according to reports.

The film, which could be in cinemas by the end of 2009, will include video from the singer's last rehearsal in Los Angeles on June 23.

Jackson, who died two days later, was using the city's Staples Center to prepare for his planned comeback gigs in London.

High School Musical director Kenny Ortega, who was choreographing Jackson's comeback, is set to oversee the movie, according to Variety.

The company behind Jackson's ill-fated gigs, AEG live, are said to have held talks with various Hollywood studios last week.

Although Sony Pictures are reportedly emerging as a favourite to land the $50million deal as sister company Sony Music own Jackson's music catalogue.

Aside from rehearsal footage, the film will also apparently include a new video for 'Thriller', which was due to be screened at Jackson's O2 Arena shows.

As previously reported, AEG Live are planning a tribute gig for Jackson at the London venue.
