Michael Jackson Sells 1.5million Records In The UK Since DeathJuly 13, 2009
Michael Jackson is number one in the UK album chart for the third week in a row.
The late star's greatest hits album 'The Essential' has been at the top spot for two weeks, while previously 'Number Ones' topped the chart for a week. The King of Pop has now sold an impressive 1.5million albums and singles in Britain since his death on June 25. Florence & The Machines's 'Lungs' entered at number two and is the only non-Michael Jackson album in the top five. According to the Official Charts Company, 'Off The Wall' is at three, 'Thriller' is at four while Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5's 'Motown Years' makes up the top five. MJ has a further five albums in the top twenty, cementing his posthumous dominance. Over in the singles chart, Cascada still top the chart with 'Evacuate The Dancefloor' ahead of La Roux's 'Bulletproof'. Michael Jackson's 'Man In The Mirror', Lady GaGa's 'Paparazzi' and David Guetta's 'When Love Takes Over' all make up the top five respectively.
