Katy Perry Storms To Number One On UK ChartsAugust 11, 2008
American Katy Perry’s debut single ‘I Kissed A Girl’ has gone straight in at number one on the UK charts.
The track, which has divided many because of its lyrics, topped the chart on download sales alone. Last week’s number one, Kid Rock, fell to number two, while the Verve are a new entry at five with ‘Love Is Noise’. Meanwhile, in the album chart, ABBA have held onto the top spot with their greatest hits collection, ‘Gold’. And Duffy’s ‘Rockferry’ and ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’ by Coldplay exchanged places to sit at number two and three respectively.
