Robert Pattinson Meets Jeff Buckley's Mother About Biopic Role

Twilight star Robert Pattinson, who has been linked to playing Jeff Buckley in a forthcoming movie, has revealed that he has met with the late musician's mother.

Mary Guibert is an executive producer on the project, which will be directed by Welcome To The Rileys director Jake Scott.

Pattinson, who was first linked to the role in January, said he was uncertain whether he could do Buckley justice.

"I met his mom who's really great," he told the Philippine Daily Inquirer. "I don't know. It's really not up to me. I love Jeff's music. He was amazing."

Pattinson added: "I don't really think I can sing like Jeff. He was unique. Also, I can't play guitar like him either.

"It would involve quite a lot of work. If someone just imitates Jeff's voice, it wouldn't be right. It's always about the script. You have no idea how it's going to represent someone."

Other actors in the running for the role include 127 Hours star James Franco.
