Lady Gaga Knocks X Factor's Joe McElderry Off Singles Chart Top SpotJanuary 4, 2010
Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' has knocked Joe McElderry off the top of the singles chart.
The X Factor winner, who failed to score the Christmas chart topper thanks to the Rage Against The Machine campaign, spent just one week at number one over new year with 'The Climb'. Rage's 'Killing In The Name' slipped from number two down to number 40, according to the Official Charts Company. Over in the albums chart, thanks to an appearance on Jools Holland's New Years show Paolo Nutini has leaped 14 places to knock Susan Boyle's 'I Dreamed A Dream' off the album top spot with his record 'Sunny Side Up'. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face' has been confirmed as the best selling single of 2009 ahead of Black Eyed Peas 'I Gotta Feeling'. Her breakthrough single 'Just Dance' is at three. As expected Susan Boyle achieved the top selling record of last year during just five weeks of sales. (by Scott Colothan) See also: Lady Gaga: 'Judas' Video To Debut Next Week (28.04.2011)
