U2's Spider-Man Musical Revamp Details RevealedApril 19, 2011
The producers of the new U2-scored musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, have revealed their new re-vamp plans for the show.
The new version will focus more on the love story between Peter Parker and Mary Jane and their battle with the Green Goblin. The change comes after a number of bad reviews and the recent departure of director Julie Taymor. "This new version, while there are going to be changes it's still true to the heart of her vision. It's just having a little bit of extra help, that's all it is," cast member Reeve Carney told The Daily Telegraph. The musical has been hit by a series of delays caused by technical and financial problems, and will now not open until "an evening early in the summer". Bono and The Edge are currently working on new material for the musical. (by Holly Frith) See also: U2 Promise 'Glastonbury On Steroids' Performance (28.04.2011)
