The Knife To Release Charles Darwin Album This March

January 6, 2010
The Knife To Release Charles Darwin Album This MarchThe Knife are returning in 2010 with their new album 'Tomorrow, In A Year'.

Set for release on March 1st, the double album is the studio version of their opera of the same name about Charles Darwin's book 'On the Origin of the Species' and is in collaboration with Mt.Sims And Planningtorock.

The Swedish siblings were so immersed in the record process that Olof Dreijer attended a workshop in the Amazon jungle to get inspiration and new sounds.

Impressively, biologist Richard Dawkins' gene trees have formed the basis of some of the musical compositions while artificial sounds have been mixed with field recordings.

There's even a song based on Charles Darwin's loving letters about his daughter Annie who died of scarlet fever at the age of 10.

Ahead of the record's release, the band are giving away a free download, 'Colouring Of Pigeons', on their official website from today.
