Morrissey Agrees With Johnny Marr Over David Cameron

April 21, 2011
Morrissey Agrees With Johnny Marr Over David CameronMorrissey has said he agrees with former Smiths band mate Johnny Marr after he told David Cameron to stop liking the band.

The Prime Minister has spoken frequently about his admiration for The Smiths and Morrissey's music.

But earlier this year, Marr wrote on Twitter: "Stop saying that you like The Smiths, no you don't. I forbid you to like it."

Asked whether he agreed with the guitarist during an apperance on BBC Radio 4's Front Row, Morrissey replied: "I am indeed because David Cameron is a hunter and he kills stag, and so forth, and that's everything The Smiths were against."

The singer said Cameron had been to "many, many Morrissey concerts" but that they had never met.

He said that it was unlike that they would, adding: "It's a moral issue. killing a stag is like killing a child. What's the difference?"
