George Clooney Drafts In Bono and Sting For Hope For Haiti Telethon

U2's Bono, Sting and Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys are amongst the music stars who will perform live on the Hope For Haiti TV fundraising appeal this Friday (January 22).

Organiser George Clooney has also drafted in Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera for the charity telethon.

Haiti-born Fugees star Wyclef Jean will host the event alongside Clooney in the high-profile fundraiser aiming to raise millions for the earthquake hit nation.

Last night at the Golden Globes where he was nominated for best actor in Up In The Air, Clooney said the aim of the telethon was “to show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention".

Organisers of the Golden Globes last night pledged $100,000 to Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund.

Up to 200,000 people are feared dead in the 7.0 Richter Scale earthquake in the already impoverished nation.
